Coral Gables, FL- FGCU (19-11) had their six game winning streak snapped Wednesday afternoon, vs the University of Miami (18-11), losing 3-2 to the Hurricanes.

Overview:
FGCU lost a tough game Wednesday afternoon, as Miami walked-off courtesy of a single from Anthony Vilar, that scored CJ Kaykus to win the game. Brian Ellis hit his 1st home run of the season and career for the Eagles in the top of the 5th inning, and continues his strong season for FGCU. Tyler Tipton had a strong outing for the Eagles, pitching 6.2 innings, only allowing 2 ER, while striking out 3 Hurricanes. The five errors in the game hurt FGCU and it’s tough to win games when there are that many mistakes. FGCU remained resilient though and hung around in this game. The Eagles face Miami one last time on April 21st, in Coral Gables.
What’s Next:
FGCU faces Wright State University (13-8, 13-3 Horizon League) for three games in two days, starting Friday afternoon, at Rudy Abbott Field at Jim Case Stadium, in Jacksonville, Alabama on the campus of Jacksonville State University. These games took the place of the round robin tournament on the campus of Stetson University that had been cancelled.
