Overview:
FGCU has a huge opportunity to pick off where they left off against Jacksonville University. The Dolphins have wins over #5/#6 UF, UCF, and beat #17/#18 FSU Tuesday night, 8-7, behind 3 home runs from Christian Coipel. Both pitching and hitting have been a struggle for JU, as they look for their first ASUN Conference win. The Dolphins are led by Head Coach Chris Hayes, who is in his 5th season leading the team.
FGCU continues to look for consistent outings from their pitching staff. The Eagles offense has been on a tear, but the opposing teams have jumped on their pitchers, making many games much closer than they should be. The top of the order continues to rake for FGCU with Richie Garcia hitting .381, and Brian Ellis hitting .337. Look for the pitching to be locked in but it’s a series where you can’t take the Dolphins lightly after their huge win over #17/#18 FSU Tuesday night.
Prediction:
FGCU completes the three game sweep of JU.
