San Antonio, TX- #11 seed FGCU (26-3) saw their season come to an end in the first round of the Women’s NCAA Tournament, losing to #6 seed Michigan (15-5), 87-66, Sunday afternoon.
Stats:
FGCU shot 42.6% (26/61) from the field, 31% (9/29) from beyond the arc, and were outrebounded 43-23 by the Wolverines. The Eagles dished out 8 assists, had 8 steals, and 3 blocks in the game. FGCU forced 16 UM team turnovers while having 11 team turnovers of their own.

Overview:
#11 FGCU played with #6 UM strongly in the first half of the game. The Wolverines received a huge game from JR Leigha Brown who completely went off in the 3rd quarter of the game scoring 19 pts in the quarter, and 28 pts overall. Naz Hillmon was in foul trouble in the first half of the game, and was called for a 3rd personal foul early in the 3rd Quarter. Naz still finished with 14 pts, and 13 rebounds in 29 minutes of play. UM shot 54% from the field and 40% from beyond the arc.
FGCU was led in scoring by Kierstan Bell who scored 25 pts, and TK Morehouse who had a strong game scoring 17 pts. It was a tough loss for the Eagles but they showed heart throughout the game and this season.
