Overview:
This game was a nail-biter early, as the Eagles could not buy a basket in the first quarter, but did enough overall to move onto the ASUN Championship game. Aaliyah Stanley carried the Eagles to victory, scoring 25 pts, and setting the pace for the team. TK Morehouse and Kierstan Bell combined for 21 pts and 21 rebounds in the game. Lipscomb was led by Dorie Harrison who scored 13 pts.
The Eagles are going to need to move the ball inside the paint next game regardless of who they play for the championship. The cold shooting from beyond the arc, could be an issue if they aren’t getting points in the paint, especially if Liberty beats UNF Friday night. Coach Smesko knows how to get his teams ready, so expect the Eagles to come out shooting the ball hot in the ASUN Championship game Sunday afternoon.
