Overview:
This series of games with Liberty University was rescheduled from earlier in the ASUN regular season due to COVID-19, and what a time for the Flames and Eagles to meet, with the ASUN tournament starting next week. These two teams will most likely face each other for the ASUN Championship but the Eagles want to wrap up the ASUN regular season Championship with a win and a sweep of Liberty would end their regular season on a 22 game winning streak and most likely propel the Eagles into the top 25.
The Flames are led in scoring by Emily Lytle (14.4 ppg) and Ashtyn Baker (12.4 ppg). Head Coach Carey Green, who is in his 22nd season leading the Flames has quite the resume, and we enjoyed talking ASUN hoops with him this offseason. The respect he has for Coach Smesko and the FGCU program is incredible, and it’s special to have two coaches with this type of pedigree, in the ASUN Conference.
Prediction:
#24 FGCU 82 LU 72
#24 FGCU 76 LU 67
