Fort Myers, FL- FGCU (7-6, 2-4 ASUN) faces a tough test as UNA (10-4, 6-2 ASUN) heads into town for back to back games starting Friday night.

UNA averages 77.8 ppg, shoots 43% (378/875) from the field, and 33% (112/334) from beyond the arc. The Lions average 41.2 team rebounds per game. UNA dishes out 11.3 assists, 7.1 steals, and 3.4 blocks per game. The Lions average 13.9 team turnovers per game.

UNA heads into this weekend tied for 1st in the ASUN Conference standings with Liberty, and Bellarmine. Coach Tony Pujol has multiple front court players that can score, including 6’7 SO F Mervin James who averages 15.4 ppg, and 7.5 rpg, while also having 6’5 R-SR F Payton Youngblood who averages 9.9 ppg. The backcourt is led by 6’1 JR G Jamari Blackmon who averages 11.7 ppg.

FGCU has a huge opportunity to move up in the standings, with 2 wins vs UNA. UNA is in 1st place and the Eagles are 2nd to last in the ASUN at 2-4, but have to make up these two games vs UNA, and the two games on the road at Liberty, to be up to date with the rest of the conference. A split seems likely with most of these back to back games but the Eagles really need these two games.
