Deland, FL- FGCU (13-2, 6-0 ASUN) won their 12th game in a row Saturday afternoon on the road vs Stetson University (4-7, 2-4 ASUN), 84-62.
Stats:
FGCU shot 48.5% (32/66) from the field, 35.9% (14/39) from beyond the arc, and both teams had 34 team rebounds. The Eagles dished out 16 assists, had 7 steals, and 3 blocks in the game. FGCU forced 13 Stetson turnovers while having only 8 team turnovers of their own.
Overview:
FGCU continues dominating teams as they are as complete of a team as they can be 15 games into the season. Kierstan Bell led the Eagles with another huge game, finishing with 25 pts, TK Morehouse scored 22 pts, and Aaliyah Stanley contributed 12 pts.
Stetson was led by Yazz Wazeerud-Din who scored 22 pts, Jamiya Turner who had 14 pts, and Megan Vincent who contributed 11 pts.
The Eagles scored 14 3’s in the game, which is their brand of basketball and it is going to be really interesting how they matchup with Liberty University (11-3, 7-0 ASUN) when and if those games get rescheduled. We may have to wait until the ASUN Championship for the matchup, but it’s one we can’t wait for.
