Overview:
The Eagles survived a super poor shooting night Friday night at home. Both teams struggled mightily but FGCU pulled off the victory which came down to Chase Johnston missing a great look from beyond the arc, at the buzzer.
FGCU was led by Jalen Warren who finished with 12 pts, Eli Abaev who had one of his best games of the season finishing with 11 pts, and Dakota Rivers (10 pts).
Stetson had four starters that finished in double figures, including Mahamadou Diawara (16 pts), Rob Perry (13 pts), Chase Johnston (12 pts), and Christiaan Jones (11 pts).
The front court had a huge game for FGCU with Justus Rainwater having his best game of the season with 8 pts and throwing down a nasty SC Top 10 dunk for the Eagles in the game. These are the games FGCU has to win and now they get the opportunity to sweep Stetson, Saturday night. You steal a game like tonight when Caleb Catto doesn’t have his best game and you still pull of the win.
