Miami, FL- FGCU (7-2) won their 500th game as a team, and defeated FIU (3-3), 80-66, Monday afternoon from the Ocean Bank Convocation Center.

FGCU shot 47.4% (27/57) from the field, 30.8% (8/26) from beyond the arc, and outrebounded FIU 37-31. The Eagles dished out 13 assists, had 4 steals, and 5 blocks in the game. FGCU forced 12 Golden Panthers turnovers and had 14 team turnovers of their own.
Overview:
The Eagles swept the back to back road games vs FIU in convincing fashion today. FGCU scored 46 2nd half points, en route to their 6th win in a row. Kierstan Bell continued her tear and finished with a double double (21 pts, 12 reb) while also having 5 blocks and 2 steals in the game. TK Morehouse finished with 14 pts, and Tyra Cox also finished in double figures with 12 pts. FIU was led by Jiselle Thomas who finished with 18 pts in the game.
The Eagles continue to be balanced offensively with 4 players finishing with double figures in the game today. We were also impressed with Seneca Hackley who scored 9 pts, and 6 reb in 23 minutes of play.
