Orlando, FL- FGCU (4-2) handed UCF (2-1) their first loss of the season, Sunday afternoon, in Orlando, winning 70-57 vs the Golden Knights.


FGCU shot 48% (25/52) from the field, and 54% (14/26) from beyond the arc. Each team had 29 team rebounds. The Eagles dished out 16 assists, had 5 steals, and 1 block in the game. FGCU forced 13 UCF turnovers and had 17 team turnovers.


The Eagles hit fourteen 3 pointers and that was the x-factor vs a UCF team that averaged only allowing 59 points per game. Kierstan Bell had another monster game, finishing with a career high 26 pts, and Tyra Cox contributed a career high 14 pts for FGCU. UCF was led by Brittney Smith and Masseny Kaba, who both finished with 11 pts. FGCU swept the home and home series with UCF after beating UCF 72-50 last season.
