Fort Myers, FL- FGGU welcomes FMU (3-2) to Alico Arena, Wednesday afternoon in their non-conference home opener.
It’s a new look team this season after losing the top seven scorers from last season’s 30-3, 15-1 ASUN team but with the COVID pandemic, this team is full of firepower due to NCAA waivers being granted easier than in the past.
Look for Andrea Cecil and Aaliyah Stanley to lead the charge for the Eagles with Tyra Cox, the leading returning scorer from last season, to build off of last season. If the NCAA waiver for Kierstan Bell is granted, this team is even more dangerous, and it’s going to be another dominant season for Coach Karl Smesko and the FGGU women’s basketball team. Kierstan will challenge Jazz Bond of UNF immediately for ASUN Player of the Year.
