GEORGETOWN/FGCU RECAP

Fort Myers,FL- FGCU (9-7) won their 5th game in a row, beating Georgetown University (4-12), 6-5, Tuesday night from Swanson Stadium.

Overview:

FGCU continued to stay hot at home, coming back against Georgetown in the bottom of the 8th with 2 outs, courtesy of an Alex Brait double that drove in Cameron Krzeminski. Brait, would be the hero in the bottom of the 10th, driving in Marc Coffers to complete the comeback win. The offense is continuing to click during this homestand and it’s encouraging to see FGCU pump out 12 hits and when you continue to comeback like they have when down, it’s only going to benefit the Eagles come ASUN play.

Levi Shuck started the game for the Eagles and pitched 3 innings, allowing 2 ER, and 2 hits, while striking out 4 Hoyas and allowing 1 walk. Hunter McGary (3-1) was solid in relief pitching 2 shutout innings and picking up the victory. The Hoyas starter, Jack Weeks (0-2) pitched 7 innings, allowing 4 ER, on 8 hits, striking out 5 Eagles and walking 4.
