#22 FGCU/ KSU RECAP

Kennesaw, GA- #22 FGCU (26-2, 13-0) won their 15th game in a row beating Kennesaw State University (12-12, 5-7) 89-64. The Eagles clinched the ASUN Regular Season Championship and a #1 seed for the upcoming ASUN Tournament.

Overview:

FGCU dominated KSU from the tip and it was great seeing the Eagles take it to the Owls in the first half, putting the game out of reach early. KSU never led in this game and the Eagles largest lead in this game was 32 points.

FGCU was led by Davion Wingate and Keri Jewett-Giles who both scored 25 points. Nasrin Ulel (15 points) and Kerstie Phills (10 points) also finished in double figures. Tytionia Adderly finished with 6 points, 8 rebounds, and 11 assists. The Owls were led by Alexis Poole (14 pts) and Gillian Piccolino (11 pts, 10 rebounds).

Stats:

FGCU shot 60% from the field (33/55), 60% from beyond the arc (15/25), and were outrebounded 33-30 by KSU. The Eagles dished out 17 assists, and on the defensive end of the ball had 14 steals and 1 block. FGCU forced 20 KSU team turnovers and had 18 team turnovers of their own.

#22 FGCU heads to Newark, New Jersey to face NJIT (4-20, 1-10) Saturday afternoon from the Wellness and Events Center.
