#22 FGCU/LU RECAP

Nashville, TN- #22 FGCU (25-2, 12-0) won their 14th game in a row, 78-45, Saturday afternoon vs Lipscomb University (5-20, 2-10).

Overview:

FGCU started the game extremely cold shooting wise and the Bisons took advantage of that taking a 17-8 lead at the end of the 1st quarter. In the 2nd quarter of the game, the Eagles battled back to take a one point lead into the half, 30-29. As usual, FGCU poured it on in the 2nd half of this game scoring 48 points, more than Lipscomb scored overall in the game. The Bisons turned the ball over 24 times and that’s too many turnovers to keep your team in a game with the opportunistic Eagles.

Tytionia Adderly, scored a season high 28 points and hit a career high 7 3 pointers in the game and she truly had the game that was needed for the Eagles to secure this victory. She was a force in the game for FGCU and Lipscomb had no answer for her. Keri Jewett-Giles also poured in 13 points for the Eagles.

Casey Collier continued her strong freshman season for the Bisons scoring 14 points in the game.

Stats:

FGCU shot 43% from the field (26/60), 41.5% from beyond the arc (17/41), and were outrebounded by the Bisons 31-29. The Eagles dished out 17 assists, and on the defensive end of the ball had 12 steals and 4 blocks. The Eagles forced 24 Lipscomb team turnovers and had only 7 team turnovers in the game.
