SU/FGCU RECAP

Fort Myers, FL- FGCU (24-2, 11-0) won their 13th game in a row Monday night vs Stetson University (10-13, 4-6) 67-54.

Overview:

Anja Marinkovic had a huge 1st half for the Eagles scoring 14 of her 16 points in the 1st half. Keri Jewett-Giles had another big 2nd half for the Eagles scoring 21 points overall with a majority of her points being in the last 20 minutes of the game when it mattered and helping put the game out of reach. Tytionia Adderly brought down 21 rebounds in the game for FGCU. Stetson was led by Junior G Tonysha Curry who finished with 15 pts. Stetson at one point had an 8 point lead but the Eagles were able to score 37 2nd half points to put the game away. Stetson showed vast improvements in this game compared to the 89-47 game back on 1/11 at Edmunds Center.

Stats:

FGCU shot 32% from the field (22/68), 28.6% from beyond the arc (10/35) and outrebounded the Hatters 41-35. The Eagles dished out 10 assists and on the defensive end of the ball had 8 steals and 1 block. FGCU forced 19 Hatters turnovers and had 6 team turnovers of their own.
