Jacksonville, FL- #24 FGCU (22-2, 9-0) won their 11th game in a row Monday night vs Jacksonville University (13-9, 5-4) 81-68 from Swisher Gymnasium.

#24 FGCU went off in the 1st half and forced 16 Dolphins turnovers which led to this game being a 52-38 game at the half. Jacksonville was the bigger team in terms of height but didn’t play with the heart and fire the Eagles played with as FGCU was the faster team and seemed to get to every 50-50 ball in the first half and most of the game. It was a huge win after such a close game with Liberty University, Saturday afternoon.

Nasrin Ulel tied an FGCU D1 scoring record for the Eagles scoring 36 pts. Two other Eagles finished in double figures in scoring: Keri Jewett-Giles (16 pts) and Ashli O’Neal (11 pts). The Eagles also now have punched their ticket to the ASUN tournament and are closing in on clinching the overall #1 seed at 9-0 very soon.

#24 FGCU shot 44% from the field (28/63), 28% from beyond the arc (7/25), and were outrebounded 45-37 by the Dolphins. The Eagles dished out 13 assists, and on the defensive end of the ball had 11 steals and 4 blocks. FGCU forced 26 JU turnovers and had 16 team turnovers of their own.
