Fort Myers, FL- FGCU (19-2, 6-0) won their 8th game in a row Monday night vs Kennesaw State (8-8, 2-3) 80-63 from Alico Arena.
Overview:
FGCU was able to hold KSU to 12.5% from beyond the arc (1/8) but KSU did have some size on them in the game including 6’2 Forward Alexis Poole (23 pts, 11 rebounds) who had her way in the paint. Young promising Sophomore guard Amani Johnson had a great game too for KSU (20 pts, 11 rebounds) and this team continues to rebuild under Head coach Angus Berenato.
FGCU had three starters finish in double figures including Keri Jewett-Giles (20 pts), Davion Wingate (14 pts) and Nasrin Ulel (11 pts) in a game that the Eagles pushed their lead to 31 at one point. KSU never held a lead vs FGCU.

FGCU shot 46% from the field (30/65), 44.8% from beyond the arc (13/29) and were outrebounded by the Owls 39-35. The Eagles dished out 23 assists, and on the defensive side of the ball had 14 steals and 1 block vs KSU. The Eagles forced 20 Owls turnovers and had 16 team turnovers overall.
