Deland,FL- FGCU (5-14, 2-2) defeated Stetson University (7-11, 1-2) in overtime Satuday afternoon 66-62 at the Edmunds Center.


FGCU shot 44% from the field (21/48), 32% from beyond the arc (6/19), and were outrebounded 30-29 by the Hatters. The Eagles dished out 12 assists, and on the defensive side of the ball had 4 steals, and 3 blocks in the game. The Eagles forced 13 Hatters team turnovers while only having 12 team turnovers of their own.


Caleb Catto had a career high 19 points in the game and hit the game tying 3 pointer to send the game into overtime. Jalen Warren completely took over for the Eagles down the stretch and in overtime to secure the win scoring 16 points. Zach Scott in his 6th man role scored 10 points off the bench in 29 minutes and with Sam Gagliardi slowing down and not scoring any points in the game, it might be time to put Zach back into the starting lineup.

Rob Perry was electric, scoring from anywhere and everywhere on the court finishing with 27 points. Christiaan Jones also finished in double figures scoring for the Hatters.
