FGCU/USC RECAP

Los Angeles, CA- FGCU (3-12) kept the game competitive but ultimately lost on the road to USC (11-2) Sunday night from the Galen Center.

Stats:

FGCU shot 40% from the field (24/59), 32% from the 3 point line (9/28), and were outrebounded by the Trojans 37-32. The Eagles dished out 16 assists to go with 17 steals while forcing 18 turnovers the defensive side of the ball. The Eagles finished with 19 team turnovers in the game. Potential NBA Lottery pick Freshman Onyeka Okongwu (17.7 ppg), the Trojans leading scorer, was a late injury scratch from the starting lineup.

USC: Nick Rakocevic, 19 pts, 13 rebounds

FGCU: Sam Gagliardi, 10 points

It was great seeing Sam return from the concussion protocol and be as productive as he was for FGCU.

FGCU begins ASUN conference play at home on Thursday night (1/2) vs Liberty University (14-1) at 5 PM on ESPNU.
